Ancient Art Adventures!” 

Teen Class: ages 12 & up


COST: $104 for 8 classes or $14 per class


 8 creative art lessons using drawing, painting based on sketch field trip to the Utah Natural History Museum.

 


 

Teen Class time: Tuesdays 1:00-2:00 pm


June 7: Quick sketching & art bags: learn how to quick sketch to be prepared for our field trip to    the Aviary. Paint your drawstring bag to take on the field trip or use for the summer classes.

  

June 14: Colored Pencil Utah Habitat Zones: We will be learning how to draw Utah native animals and their habitats


June 17, 1:30 pm-3:30 pm: Seek & Sketch Field Trip: please pre-order your group discount tickets and sketch books by June 10.


June 27: Watercolor Velociraptors: Drawing and watercolor painting techniques will be taught for this lesson on how to draw & paint Velociraptors.


July 5: Wood Burning Dinosaurs: A favorite of the students each summer… we will be wood burning dinos this year.


July 12: Dinosaur Acrylic Paintings: A drawing and acrylic painting lesson on canvas


July 19: Fish Fossil Drawings: we will be using graphite on grey paper for these awesome fossil drawings.


July 26: Bee Prints: We’ll learn how to draw and then scratch out Bees on special foam paper that we will use to print with ink.


August 9: Pictograph Slabs: We will draw and paint ancient pictographs on plaster.

Seek & Sketch Field Trip Enhance your teen’s educational experience for these summer art classes by attending this field trip at the Utah Natural History Museum.

June 17, 1:30-3:30 pm.

Discounted Ticket Costs: (must pre-order by June 10)

Students & other children: $4

Adults/Chaperones: $7

Seek & Sketch Book (specially printed for this event): $4

**Children under age 10 must be accompanied by a Parent/Guardian for the Field Trip

Teen Art: Spring 2022

Teen Art is designed for junior high and high school age kids (ages 12 and up).  No matter what your skill level is, students will have a great time with these projects. Some previous art experience is recommended but not required for this class. Supplies that we may be learning with are black charcoal, white charcoal, Prismacolor pencil, pastels, illustration markers, India Ink, watercolor and acrylic.

Fridays 4:00-5:00 pm

8 weeks: April 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, May 6, 13, 20

Cost: $104 (Includes Supplies)

 

Project 1: Animal silhouette project: Choose an animal and inside it we will draw it’s habitat using pen and ink

Project 2: Larger than Life Fruit Paintings: This is a fun project using large canvas and acrylic paints.

Project 3: Watercolor pencil Dragonflies: this medium is a mixture between colored pencils and paint. 

Project 4: Mixed Media Sunsets: We’ll glue down some old book papers and paint on top with Acrylic











All Classes are taught at The Creative Arts Studio, Erda, Utah by instructor Nicole Knight
