FUN Rubbish Robots!!
Our biggest project this spring has been making sculptures to look like robots, what I call RUBBISH ROBOTS!  The kids love this and we learned about artist Lyle Nichols from Colorado who has a great display of metal rubbish sculptures just outside of St. George that I was able to see.  Also, thanks to www.thatartistwoman.com for the great ideas on how to build these little guys using candy boxes.  We had to eat a lot of candy to save up for 15 kids' sculptures!

GREAT American Indian Ledger Art
American Indian Ledger Art was our lesson combining culural art and learning about an artist for this month.  We painted stylized horses and indians on maps like artist Michael Horse.  If you go to the Featured Artist link above you can read more about him and Ledger art.  The kids did a great job on this project.  It was lots of fun!

AWESOME Indian Ink/Watercolor Motorcycles
The boys class ages 12 and up worked on learning how to draw these awesome motorcylces.  Then we applied watercolors and India Ink.  We splattered, used salt and blew out of a straw onto the ink for special dirt effects!
